Happy New Year – a few days late I know.

The holidays are over and while I was pretty proud of getting thru Christmas with little overage in carbs I can’t say the same for New Years. The New Year’s Eve celebration was a little different scenario than Christmas. My father-in-law’s birthday is that day, so we were celebrating that, and we did Christmas with the in-laws and of course it was NYE. Needless to say, things got a little out of hand with the desserts.

I received a medium sized bag of M&Ms peanut (my favorite) and a box of Scottish shortbread cookies (another favorite) as gifts. I thought that I could resist these but ended up snacking on them over the last 4 days. I did try to keep my consumption of carbs down other than these snacks.

So, getting on the scale to weigh myself this morning was not something I was looking forward to. I was prepared to possibly gain back some of the weight I lost or possibly lose a pound.

My official weight this morning was 391.3 pounds!! That is down 3.3 pounds from last week and a grand total of 16.5 pounds lost since the beginning of this journey. I am pretty happy with that!

I ended up checking my records and the last time I was close to this weight was back in July of 2023.
